There’s a rumbling happening at Spotify with their latest platform feature update allowing artists and labels to pitch their releases directly to the Spotify team for editorial / playlist consideration.
If you’re an artist or a label and have admin access to the artists ‘analytics’ page, you can simply log in, select the unreleased song for editorial playlist consideration and fill out their form that takes about 5 minutes. As added incentive to make sure you’re organised, Spotify says that if you pitch at least one week in advance to the release coming out, they’ll automatically add it across all artist followers release radar playlists.
The Swedish company that listed on the U.S. stock exchange earlier this year has been introducing new features including changing the structure of their ad serving in Australia to make it more targeted. This latest news comes after Apple Music officially surpassed the number of Spotify subscribers in the U.S. Now everyone is that little step closer to chasing that dream of getting on the most played list in Australia.
