Disclosure are back, have “written over 100 songs” for new album
After a self-imposed year long hiatus, British duo Disclosure are back after what has seemed like an eternity with the return nothing but good news for new and old fans with the promise of new music on the way.
The brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence told Triple J they’ve “written over 100 songs” in the last two years in what will culminate in a new album adding “We wanna get something out either at the end of this year or beginning of next” – huge!
This follows production duties for Khalid’s hit “Talk” back in March and a handful of singles last year that made up the ‘Moonlight’ EP that signalled some variety in their music making output which could benefit them on the yet to be named third album. But really, who can forget the impact of their earlier albums ‘Settle’ in 2013 and ‘Caracal’ in 2015, both nominated for GRAMMYs.
What to expect? No one knows, not even Howard himself telling Triple J the new music is “a big mixture of stuff” and they “haven’t confirmed what we’re putting on” adding some handy album hype as to what will be on the way.
Those wanting to catch the brothers live, can see them later in the year at Falls Festival alongside Peking Duk, PNAU, BANKS, Crooked Colours and more.
