Beyond Wonderland 2020 confirmed for Gorge Amphitheatre
In his recently aired “State of Insomniac” address, Pasquale Rotella announced that Beyond Wonderland would “return to the Pacific Northwest.” Now, nine years after its 2011 iteration at Seattle’s WaMu Theater, the Insomniac-branded event will return to Washington state to record its 2020 edition at the Gorge Amphitheater.
For now, neither Rotella nor Insomniac have disclosed further details about Beyond Wonderland, such as the festival’s 2020 dates. This information is yet to come, as is a ruling on Insomniac and USC Event’s collaborative production project, Paradiso Festival.
The event, which has traditionally been held at the amphitheater each June since 2012, is the subject of ongoing litigation between both festival producers. In 2019, Insomniac filed a lawsuit against USC Events, alleging a breach of contract offense. The open nature of the case meant that Paradiso would not return as expected for its June 2020 iteration. It is possible that Beyond Wonderland could take the place of Paradiso to operate in June, but it is currently unclear if this will in fact be the case.
