Check Out The New Initiative That Tackles Racism And Harassment In The EDM Industry

A new initiative was launched by EDM brands, where its sole purpose is to voice the issues of gender and racial injustices in the industry.

Pioneer DJ, Beatport, Sentric Music Group, AFEM, Mixmag, RA, IMS, and Women in CTRL, all have joined their forces to partner with InChorus to establish Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative (EMII) which collects data to later perform an in-depth analysis.

Around 21.7% of the industry’s artists are female, where the majority complains about gender exclusivity. The study also found out that women of color make up 0.3% of production and technical positions, while white women make up less than 3%.
