S2O, the world’s largest water music festival, made a splash in New York City this Labor Day Weekend. Held at the iconic Brooklyn Mirage, the two-day event brought together thousands of revelers for a unique and unforgettable experience. Presented by Pulse Events, this was the first time that the water festival took place in the U.S. and based off of this weekend, it was a major success. Since its inception in 2015, the event brand has become the world’s biggest Songkran/Thai New Year celebration with events in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Dubbed as the world’s wettest party, it was a weekend of celebrating life as thousands of people joined into this festivity.

True to its reputation, S2O delivered on its promise of non-stop water action. The Brooklyn Mirage was transformed into a water-logged playground of sound and excitement. Water cannons blasted the crowd from all angles, creating a chaotic yet exhilarating atmosphere. Attendees were drenched from head to toe, but the constant flow of water kept things cool and refreshing. The organizers had water cannons consistently shoot into the crowd, as well as staff shooting large water guns to add into the fun. Those in attendance were able to purchase water guns inside the festival and have water gun fights all while listening to top tier music inside the venue. As the music intensified, so did the water fights. The production was on another level as well, really adding into the festival ambiance. There was no shortage of CO2 cannons, lasers, and pyrotechnics. All of these factors, blending in with the refreshing water and all the vibrant production, made this truly a one of kind experience.

The music lineup at S2O was nothing short of impressive. Headliners like Marshmello and Subtronics drew massive crowds, while other acts like Alan Walker, Timmy Trumpet, and ARMNHMR kept the energy high throughout the day. Said the Sky b2b William Black in particular stunned the crowds with their bass-filled performance in their special b2b. House fans were in delight with Dzeko putting on a groovy house/tech house set whereas Level Up put on a heavy headbang inducing performance.

Overall Impressions

S2O’s debut in New York City was a resounding success. The festival’s ability to transport attendees to a tropical paradise, even in the heart of Brooklyn, was a testament to its organizers’ vision. S2O’s combination of music, water, and vibrant visuals created an unforgettable experience. The festival’s immersive atmosphere and the camaraderie among attendees made it a memorable event for all who attended. A suggestion would be to move the festival to an earlier week throughout the summer as many in attendance were stating that it got too cold at night after being drenched in the water. For those looking for another festival already, Pulse Presents will be throwing their second edition of their Winter Solstice Festival featuring Dillon Francis B2B Valentino Khan, Adventure Club, and 4B B2B SAYMYNAME.
