Sad beat, with a twist. Spanish talent Entienel delivers experimental trap gem “watching you were not here”
• Experimental trap with clean bass and distorted vocals
• Surprise female vocals elevate second half
• Wobbling beat creates nostalgic vibe
Today I’m checking out something different: this beat from Spanish producer Entienel. At first I had it playing in the background, but 30 seconds in I had to stop and really listen. By the first minute I was hooked and started it over to catch everything.
“watching you were not here” opens with an experimental trap sound. Clean basslines, a distorted vocal loop, and these great wobbling effects. The production is super clean but still gives off this heavy nostalgic, almost sad feeling. Really impressive atmosphere.
The drop comes in smooth: not too aggressive, with that vocal sample repeating over a solid bassline. But here’s the cool part: halfway through, these sweet female vocals come in out of nowhere and completely change the vibe. I was like ‘Wait, this also has vocals?!’.
They add this emotional layer that makes the whole track feel more alive while keeping that melancholy tone.
The ending builds up with this long, noisy section before dropping back into the wobbling beat. Entienel brings back the vocal loop but harder this time, with some punchier drums that really seal the deal.
“watching you were not here” is seriously dope. Entienel nailed that balance between experimental and accessible; it’s got enough weird sounds to be interesting but still hits hard. That surprise vocal switch-up is genius. If you’re into beats with feeling behind them, this one’s a must-listen. Spanish producers coming through with the heat again!
