Alesso drops new crossover single, 'Sad Song'

Alesso joined forces with one of Argentina’s rising Latin-pop stars to help bolster all the “summer bop” playlists. “Sad Song,” featuring TINI, is a club-worthy track that introduces a familiar crossover between pop and dance music. Despite the track’s title, it’s a feel-good song that’s right on brand with the artist’s usual upbeat and lyrical releases.

TINI stepped away from her Latin roots for the track, as this marks her first English-language single since 2016. As well, “Sad Song” serves as Alesso’s first single release of the year. The Swedish DJ seems to have his hands dipped in multiple genres, as his mixtape Progresso features tracks leaning towards a tech-house designation. Alesso can do no wrong and “Sad Song,” while an ode to his original sound, is a forward movement for the artist nonetheless.
