Chris Lorenzo fuses drum 'n' bass and garage on 'Take Me As I Am'
It may come as a surprise given his extensive catalog on American imprints like Night Bass Recordings and Mad Decent, but Chris Lorenzo is a UK native. The beginnings of drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep, and garage run through his veins, and he has displayed his admiration for the styles of his homeland on his latest single, “Take Me As I Am.”
With dry, haphazard vocals provided Mike Skinner of UK alternative hip-hop project The Streets, this track is a paragon of British sounds. The drums are tight. The bass synths tear through the speakers. Lorenzo made a statement with this track that he will never forget where he came from, and where he came from is the place to be.
