DJ Earworm debuts 100-song ‘Decade of Pop’ mashup [Stream]
If 2010 to 2020 was the golden decade of dance, it was also an equally gilded pop span. That’s what DJ Earworm asserts with his “Decade Of Pop 100 Song Mashup.” A three-minute collection of the pop genre’s most noteworthy releases over the past 10 years, the mashup features chart favorites such as Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know,” Drake’s “One Dance,” and Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next”—and that’s just scratching the surface. Earworm’s retrospective celebration of pop also shuffles through beloved pop-electronic crossovers; Avicii’s “Wake Me Up,” The Chainsmokers’ “Closer,” and David Guetta’s “Titanium” are examples.
Although the retrospective mix is sure to spark nostalgia, the strength of its 100 inclusions, particularly those of the latter half of the decade, should also inspire within pop enthusiasts an excitement for the releases to come.
