Flume drops 'Rushing Back' featuring Vera Blue, announces new Europe tour dates
Flume has dropped a new single, “Rushing Back,” featuring Vera Blue along with an 11-stop tour European tour date for the end of October and November.
“Rushing Back” utilizes a favorite high-pitched vocal synth of his heard at the end of his “Friends” project featuring Reo Cragun and on his single “Jewel” from his big splash Hi This Is Flume mixtape released this year. That specific sound also seems to be distorted on other tracks, along with his most-streamed song this year, “Let You Know,” featuring London Grammar. This high-pitched envelope synth use demonstrates the Australian producer’s unique sound design prowess as the new track dips and dives between the more high-pitched vocals sound and a flute sound for a slight distinct tonal difference that evokes Flume’s attention to detail.
Vera Blue’s voice hovers alongside these high-end melodies and above the mid-range melodies that lay the foundation for the ultra-harmonic work. This is not the first time the two Australian artists have worked together. In 2016, they collaborated on “My Boo,” which also featured Vince Staples, Kučka, and Ngaiire.
In addition to the release of the new single, Flume is also prepping for his upcoming European tour. Click here for details.
