How EDM Music Helped A Brain Tumor Survivor
A former U.S. Navy veteran shares his experience on how EDM songs armed him with the needed support while battling a brain tumor.
The Texas-based DJ stage name is D-NAM-X is an inspirational figure for many, as he explained how music never left him even when he was hitting rock bottom in his life.
“I just want people to understand that even though you can go through something as traumatic as a brain tumor, you can’t be down about it,” he commented.
The University of Central Florida highlighted the positive role of music on our brains by mentioning the fact that listening to music is a sort of brain exercise because the occipital cortex (aka the visual cortex) is used throughout the process.
The dance/ electronic icon is a self-taught artist who masterly plays guitar, drums, turntables, and keyboard. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he could not practice what he loved.
He added, “You should always continue to do your best to look forward to the future because there’s always something to look forward to”
