Overly talented crooner James Blake has shared a new EP that covers some classic and contemporary greats including Frank Ocean, Stevie Wonder, Joy Division, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish and Roberta Flack.

While we certainly weren’t ready for new music following his ‘Believe’ EP back in October (and rowdy Boiler Room) that shone a light on his more traditional electronic roots we’re not complaining.

Turns out the new EP was inspired by you, yes you! When enough suggestions came through from fans for his live performances on Instagram the idea was sparked.

“One of the things keeping me going mentally throughout lockdown has been the requests from fans for different covers and performing them on Instagram. It’s been a joy to discover new music and new ways of playing songs I’ve already heard.”

While the EP isn’t the bass crunching stuff we’ve come to expect from Mr Blake, it drips in beauty with his piano skills and angelic voice on show!
