Last weekend, John Summit brought the heat of his upcoming album Comfort In Chaos tour celebration to Toronto for two sold-out shows! 16,000 fans each night filled up the famous Budweiser Stadium, eagerly awaiting the famous words “Toronto, How The F*#K Are We Feeling?”. John, known for his epic after parties, decided that two nights at Budweiser weren’t enough for Toronto. He took it to another level by announcing an after party at our famous underground club, Coda, exclusively for his discord fans. Without sharing the invite on his socials, those tickets sold out within the hour!

John’s Friends

John had different friends join him on both nights. I attended the show on the first night, and John brought Marta, Azzecca, and Cassian. The doors opened at 5 p.m., but the show started slightly later than expected. Canadian DJ Marta opened the night with her unique blend of techno and house, setting the stage for a memorable event. Azzecca, known for her eclectic mix of house, techno, and disco, added an exciting dimension to the lineup. She is a fellow Chicago resident and a rising star in the electronic music scene. By this time, the stadium was reaching its capacity, and the crowd was bustling and dancing away to the great music. Up next was Australian DJ and producer Cassian. His set at the Budweiser Stage featured a mix of his original tracks and remixes, engaging the audience with an immersive experience.

John Summit’s Set

As the sun set, the atmosphere at Budweiser Stadium was electric as John Summit took the stage for his two-hour set. He opened with an unreleased remix by Maddix of ‘Where You Are’. He treated the crowd to a mix of his own tracks, unreleased music from Comfort In Chaos, and other artists. Standout moments included his new release with Kaskade ft. Julia Church, ‘Resonate’, and an unreleased remix of ‘IT GIRL’ with Dom Dolla. Later in the night, John surprised the crowd with a Subtronics remix dubstep version of ‘Escape’. He showcases his versatility as a DJ. His remix of ‘Escape’ has been a top track of 2022 on EDMTunes. One noteworthy track that caught our attention was ‘GAS PEDAL’ by John Summit & Subtronics & Tape B. This could possibly be part of his upcoming album.

At the 1.5 hour mark, John welcomed a special guest, Hayla. As the night drew to a close, it was obvious that fans were thrilled because there was more to come. John played a different set on Sunday night and was joined by Marta, Nala, and LP Giobbi! How could John not have an AP! He closed out the spectacular weekend with an after-party at Coda.

It was a memorable weekend for Toronto, and one that will be cherished for a long time. We look forward to welcoming John back! If you’d like to revisit any of the sets John played in Toronto, you can check them out here. In the meantime, stay tuned to EDMTunes for all your dance music updates.
