M83 soundtrack forthcoming movie, 'Knife + Heart,' share first single from venture

M83 constituents Anthony Gonzalez and Nicolas Fromageau haven’t labored collectively since 2003—till now. Gonzalez and Fromageau rejoin artistic forces on the newly produced soundtrack to Knife + Heart, a thriller movie directed by Gonzalez’s brother, Yann Gonzalez. Knife + Heart furthers Anthony Gonzalez’s foray into soundtrack manufacturing, to materialize because the second soundtrack that Gonzalez has written thus far. Gonzalez beforehand assumed writing duties for Yann’s 2013 movie, You and the Night.

“We needed to recapture the Giallo ambiance of the ’70s, to really feel that sinister but sentimental tone,” Yann Gonzalez mentioned in a press launch. “Anthony and I are each poetical and even sentimental, in a sure manner. We needed to dive in headlong, notably as melancholy and poetry are present in quite a few ’70s horror movie soundtracks, from movies by Lucio Fulci to these by Mario Bava. I’m considering particularly of the harrowing soundtracks of Don’t Torture a Duckling or Twitch of the Death Nerve.

Although the soundtrack will arrive on March eight, these interested in what Gonzalez and Fromageau’s inventive synergy will sound like 15 years after their final launch—2003’s Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts—can preview what stays to return on the soundtrack “Karl.” The sole single to precede the soundtrack’s full-length debut, “Karl” is a synth wealthy quantity that induces a particular type of euphoria, from the primary second that it floods listeners’ audio system.
