Martin Garrix surprise releases Ultra intro, ‘Mistaken’ with Matisse & Sadko and Alex Aris
Ultra Miami has always been a special event for Martin Garrix. The crossover wunderkind’s gigs at the mega-festival involve unveiling multiple new IDs and more, making for a memorable affair each time. After having to miss the 2018 iteration, he ensured his return to the main stage would be particularly special.
Garrix fans received a gift in the form of a brand new release minutes after his Ultra 2019 set began. His opening piece, an Matisse & Sadko and Alex Aris collaboration called “Mistaken,” landed on digital shelves with two different versions. The original, which harkens back to commercial house sounds of the early 2010s, is a slice of vocal euphoria that served as an effective opener for Garrix’ momentous returning set. Its accompanying club version errs a bit more toward the gritty side, but is equally nostalgia-influenced. Of his performance, the producer tweeted out his praise: “tonight was very special.”
Thank you Ultra.. I missed you guys a lot ❤️❤️ Tonight was very special
