Pete Tong announces 'Chilled Classics' album alongside The Heritage Orchestra
Pete Tong continues his orchestral ventures with a brand new album on Astralwerks, Chilled Classics. It sees the British radio host and curatorial master joining forces once more with The Heritage Orchestra to adapt classic house and techno pieces to the concert hall, building upon the collection already in place by way their previous Classic House and Ibiza Classics records. The theme for Chilled Classics, however, is to emulate a typical sunset on the island.
A few symphonic re-creations to expect on Chilled Classics are the trance anthem “Greece 2000,” Rui Da Silva’s progressive hit “Touch Me,” “The Cure and The Cause,” and Red Carpet’s “Alright.” Tong’s also recruited some strong talent for the LP as well, including singing prodigy Au/Ra, Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince from The Kills, and MNEK. It will be released on November 29, right in time for holidays, with both Pete and The Heritage Orchestra embarking on a brief tour the following week.
