So Dope melds hip-hop and trap in languid new cut, 'come for me'

New York’s own, So Dope drops by the release ring with “come for me,” a languid hip hop heater that sources its verses from Atlanta rapper, Xzaye. The downtempo nature of the track’s arrangement, however, doesn’t mean that the cut is anticlimactic–“come for me” engages trap elements at its breakdowns, leading “come for me” to take on a multi-genre musical personality.

The breakdowns are brief, compelling forays into a heavier bass sound that is punctuated by shrill synths and a multitude of different effects. “come for me” contrasts the kick of these isolated instances of trap and bass vigor with its soft, subdued fade out at song’s end, concluding the number. “come for me” further concretizes So Dope’s capability in the electronic scene.
