Throwback Track: Fedde Le Grand – Put Your Hands Up For Detroit

If there were a top 5 electro bangers that stood the test of time over the years ‘test’ you’d be hard-pressed to pass up “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” from Dutch producer Fedde Le Grande.

The track’s impact at the time of release in 2006 was pretty damn impressive with it notching up a #1 spot in the UK Dance Charts and circumnavigating around the globe and its dancefloors.

Again, like previous throwback tracks, it’s beauty is its simplicity with an ultra-catchy chorus and with it, unrelenting beat and perfectly timed drop that magically coincided with a mighty fist pump.

As always, when you’ve got a chart topping romper like “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” you need a suitably risky music video and well, they delivered on that front as well. If a non-sensical plot line, robot dance moves and sexy nurses are your thing, you’re in luck!

On the remix front there were a couple official and unofficial that almost topped the original including efforts from TV Rock, Dirty South, DJ Delicious and Till West. The major stand out for us from Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke who flipped the track into a beautifully munted mess.
