EDM All Day

What is the importance of silence in music? Production school and mix engineers reveal all!

What is the importance of silence in music? Wait, what actually is silence?

In this third episode of Stoney Adventures, following our videos on record collecting and famed Sydney space Club 77 we uncover just what silence is, and its near integral importance in music.

To get to the bottom of things we chat with Adam Maggs, director of Liveschool, a leading production school based in Sydney and Tim Watts, a mix engineer at Universal Musics’ famed Forbes Street Studio who has worked with countless local and global super acts.

Their extensive knowledge and experience not only listening but creating music for the past few decades gave us the low down on what silence is, but also its importance in music.

Dive in for one hell of a ride!
