Young Thug, J. Cole, and Travis Scott team up for 'The London'

Three of hip-hop’s established stars just released what could be one of the most exciting singles of 2019. “The London” by Young Thug with stalwart guests J. Cole and Travis Scott on features is an upbeat club-rap anthem that displays the versatility of its credited artists.

Beginning with a hook using Scott’s cruising auto-tune, the verses from Cole and Thug that follow (in that order) represent the ability of both artists to adapt their vocal work. Fans of each would note that Cole and Thug’s respective flows are often the inverse of each other, with Cole known for his smooth and heartfelt lyricism, while Thug is harsher and choppier. For this track, however, the two have found a middle ground that complements their different styles and enhances the track overall.

Cole revealed earlier this year that he is executive producing Thug’s upcoming album, GØŁDMØÜFDÖG, and it would not be surprising if this single is included on the LP.
