Gryffin returns to his early sound for latest single, 'Body Back,' featuring Maia Wright
Less than a week before the full release of his debut full-length album, Gryffin has put out another single from the compilation, which is set to be titled GRAVITY. He continues to prove his pop prowess on “Body Back,” which enlists Maia Wright as the vocalist.
The track focuses in on Wright’s vocals, which are unapologetically catchy and serve as the initial sonic hook of the release. A guitar-laced yet still distinctly electronic build infuses energy into “Body Back,” which has been characteristic of Gryffin’s releases since the producer plays the electric guitar during his live performances. The track then falls into a simple yet catchy drop that is perfect for radio play and makes for an easy and captivating listen.
Gryffin wrote on Twitter that “Body Back” is his answer to those who have been asking him to come out with new material that returns to his early sound.
GRAVITY will feature 16 original releases, some of which has been previously released as singles. The album will be out in full Geffen Records on Oct. 24.
